SEOmoz Hosts Second Annual Web 2.0 Awards

Proving once again to be one of the main champions of all things social media, Rand Fishkin’s SEOmoz is hosting the second annual Web 2.0 awards. There are a number of categories to be awarded, so be sure to pop in and nominate your selection(s).

Unlike last year (SEOmoz decided the 2005 winners), winners are going to be decided by a panel consisting of 40 or so members. The deadline for nominations is the first of February (02-01-07), so you still have some time to contribute. As I indicated, there are a good amount of categories you can choose for your nominees. However, if any of the established ones don’t exactly fit, feel free to suggest another.

An example of the available categories includes:

Blog Guides
Bookmarking
Books
Content Aggregation and Management
Feed Management Services
Games
Mapping
Marketing
Music
Podcasts
Travel

And, of course, social networking and social tagging - effectively representing the most talked about aspect (currently, anyway) of online marketing. For more information about the Web 2.0 awards, take a look at Jane Copland’s post.
